You are holding bridging visa A now while processing your partner/ de facto visa to be grant, and you really want to leave Australia but you wish to come back as legal?
So, when you applying partner / de facto visa onshore inside Australia, after you lodge the partner / de facto visa application & paid the fee of course. You will immediately granted for bridging visa A.
There is many kind of bridging visa actually but likely the immigration & border protection Australia will grant bridging visa A directly after lodge application & paid partner / de facto visa onshore subclass 820/801.
Remain bridging visa A remain you to stay in Australia until partner/ de facto visa decision made by immigration & border protection Australia, you can work in Australia too but you can not leave the country. If you would leave Australia on bridging visa A definitely you can not come back to entry again Australia because you don't have valid visa. Bugger .. that means you just waste money nearly AUD 8000 the money that you paid for partner/ de facto visa.
You would not this really happen, wouldn't you?
So immigration & border protection Australia made rule, when you holding bridging visa A and wish to leave Australia you need to apply bridging visa B. On bridging visa B, you can leave Australia with certain periods time likely they will grant for at last 3 months to stay outside Australia. Bridging visa B is quiet similar like bridging visa A, the different thing is just you can leave Australia on bridging visa B then come back to entry Australia, on bridging visa A you need to stay in Australia until your visa granted, well .. you can leave Australia on bridging visa A but definitely you would not able back to entry Australia as you don't have valid visa. When you leaving Australia holding visa A means your partner/ de facto visa application has aborted.
So the best way to leave the country you need to apply bridging visa B while you holding bridging visa A.
I would like to share how to apply bridging visa B. You only able to apply bridging visa B by post.
First download & fill the form 1006 Bridging Visa B. Remember the application bridging visa B is AUD 140, so the best payment methods is by credit card. Because the time you fill the application form, you need to write down the detail credit card number so they will charge AUD 140 & verification by credit card detail number when they processing the bridging visa B application.
Why is the best way using credit card?
Because it is more secure & easier rather than another payment methods option.
Remember, you need write down the reason why you need to leave Australia. At least less than 3 months periods.
Send application bridging visa B form by post, after 1-2 weeks time, you will receive visa grant notification bridging visa B by email. I received multiple entry but only for 3 months periods.
