10 Thing to do in Moyne - Port Fairy, Victoria - Australia

My experience Port Fairy is very busy spots specially on December - January also March, everything packed out even restaurant. So please make booking before you arrive there for restaurant, hotel and many thing to avoid upsetting because you can't get what you expect hehe. 


Did you know about Port Fairy?

  • Port Fairy was one called Belfast
  • Tower Hill Reserve was declared Victoria's first National Park in 1982 and since the early 1960's around 300,000 trees have been planted there
  • The wind turbines at Codrington rotate at 17 revolutions per minute
  • Olivine is a gemstone sometimes called Peridot, the birthstone for August. Fossick for some at the Mortlake Quarry.
  • Mutton Birds have a two week "honeymoon" at sea
  • In February 1885 Koroit potatoes were selling for $3.50 per ton!
  • When the falls of Halladale was wrecked at Peterborough in 1908 the crew of 29 were all rescued

  • Spot a Koala at Tower Hill Reserve near Koroit
  • Indulge your cake fantasy at the cafes and restaurants of Port Fairy
  • Visit the worlds funkiest toilet at Hawkesdale
  • Slide down the giant sand dune slide at the Yambuk Lake
  • Try your skill at the Peterborough Golf Link (one of Victoria's top 10 courses) --> Very recommended
  • Enjoy a family picnic at beautiful Tea Tree Lake in Mortlake
  • Visit the Port Fairy Lighthouse on Griffiths Island also home to a Shearwater Colony from September to May
  • Cycle the trail between Port Fairy, Koroit and Warrnambool

We didn't get much change to stay longer in Port Fairy, but Port Fairy is cool spot to spend holiday and local community are friendly and they love beers hahaha
Port Fairy is not far from Adelaide, also it is not far away driving from Melbourne. So it is very recommended to visit mate. If you have planning to do road trip along coast in Australia, you should stop at Port Fairy then.
